There are three main methods of gold smelting. They are operated in caves, reservoirs and barrels. However, today I want to introduce to you how alluvial gold is smelted.

How is alluvial gold smelted: put the ore sand into the board slot covered with a blanket, pour it into the pan, and the heavier ore sand will remain on the top of the blanket. This step is called blanket sand. The ore collected after pulling the blanket sand is washed with the gold tank repeatedly to collect the gold sand. Rough gold has to be processed to become pure gold.

The process is as follows:
1. First, put crude gold and silver into a crucible in a ratio of 2 to 1 and heat them to melt into a liquid. When the temperature drops a little, pour the liquid into the water quickly, and make the water spin, the metal liquid will condense into pieces of gold and silver alloys after meeting the water.
2. Put this alloy into an iron pot, add nitric acid to boil, melt the silver in nitric acid, add water to wash, and collect the silver nitrate solution to recover silver.
3. Repeat step 2 until the color of the gold chips gradually turns brown.
4. Add sulfuric acid to boil to dissolve other impurities. Then wash with water repeatedly to get pure gold.
5. After the pure gold chips are dried, add an appropriate amount of borax and saltpeter, and then put them into a crucible for melting.
6. Pour it into the mold and cool it into a pure gold bar.
