Jig separator mainly uses vertical alternating medium (usually water or air) flow to stratify ore particles according to relative density and collect heavy and heavy minerals respectively by appropriate methods to achieve the purpose of separation, which is one of the effective gravity separation methods to deal with coarse ore with large density difference.
In the process of separation, the technological factors affecting jigging separation mainly include stroke, stroke times, ore water feeding, water replenishment under sieve, bed thickness, artificial bed composition, feed amount and other adjustable factors in production. Although particle size and density composition of feed, bed thickness, sieve plate drop and jigging cycle curve form also have important effects on the jigging sorting index, the adjustable range of these factors is very limited in the production process.

1. Stroke and impulse
Stroke and stroke are directly related to the looseness degree and looseness form of the bed and have a decisive influence on the jigging sorting index. Need to be determined according to the nature of materials and bed thickness, the principle is:
(1) When the bed is thick and the processing capacity is large, the stroke should be increased and the stroke times should be correspondingly reduced;

(2) the treatment of coarse material, the use of large stroke, low impact, and the treatment of fine material, the use of small stroke, high impact.

2. Add water to ore water and under sieve
The sum of ore water and underscreen water is the total water consumption of jigging separation. The ore water is mainly used to wet the feed, and make it have proper fluidity, the solid mass fraction in the feed is generally 30%~50%, and should be kept stable. Adding water under the sieve is the main means to adjust the loose degree of the bed in the operation, and the water can be added to the narrow level of the material to improve the stratification speed of the material; When handling wide grade materials, it should be smaller to increase the inhalation effect. The total water consumption of jigging separation per ton of material is usually 3.5~8m3.

3.Bed thickness and artificial bed
The thickness of the bed (including the artificial bed) in the jig is the height from the sieve plate to the overflow weir. The suitable thickness of jig bed is determined by the type of jig used, the density difference of the components to be separated in the feed and the feed size.
