Ball mill is a key equipment to grind the crushed materials, and the ball mill is widely used in powder-making production line including cement, silicate, new-type building material, refractory material, fertilizer, ore dressing of ferrous metal and non-ferrous metal, glass ceramics, etc. And the ball mill can grind various ores and other materials with dry type and wet type. There are two kinds of ball mill, grid type and overflow type due to different ways of discharging material.
Ball mill liners protect the cylinder from direct impact and friction between the grinding media and the material. Different types of liners can also be used to adjust the movement of the grinding media, enhancing the grinding effect of the grinding media on the material, helping to improve the grinding efficiency of the mill, increase output, and reduce metal consumption.
Liner Main Functions
Cylinder Protection: This is the most fundamental function. As a consumable part, the liner protects the expensive main structure of the ball mill cylinder through its own wear, significantly extending the cylinder’s service life and reducing maintenance costs.
Improving Grinding Efficiency: Liners of varying shapes can modify the motion of the grinding media (steel balls, steel segments, etc.). They effectively transfer the rotational kinetic energy of the cylinder to the grinding media, optimizing their drop or cascade, thereby achieving optimal impact and grinding results.
Adjusting Material Flow Rate: The shape and arrangement of the liner can control the material’s forward speed within the mill, thereby optimizing its residence time and ensuring the desired grinding fineness.
Separating Grinding Media: Specially designed liners (such as grading liners) can automatically separate grinding media of varying sizes, allowing larger diameter media to impact bulky materials at the feed end, while smaller diameter media can grind finer materials at the discharge end, thereby improving grinding efficiency.
Reduce energy consumption: High-quality liners and reasonable design can reduce ineffective friction and sliding, and use more energy for effective grinding, thereby reducing energy consumption per unit output.
