Trommel screen, also known as a rotary screen, is a mechanical screening machine used to separate materials in the mineral and solid-waste processing industries.
Metallic and non-metallic ores (gold, silver, copper, tantalum, barite, tungsten, quartz, coal, limestone etc.), aggregate (rocks, river stone, blast rock, lava rock), construction waste (asphalt, concrete, bricks, pavers, etc.), and some other materials.
Trommel screen is mainly used in gold processing, metallurgy, mine, coal, power station, water conservancy project, building industry, light industry, and chemical industry. It is efficient screening machine for the classification of bulk material such as coal, minerals, coke etc.

Materials fed into the trommel screen, is lifted up by the rotation and aerated as it falls back down. This action is repeated with each revolution along the length of the drum. The three coupling shafts are designed higher than the screening surface, which enables the larger particles being stirred up and thus increases the screening efficiency. The particles larger than screen mesh size are discharged as the upper size materials which could be delivered away by belt conveyor, while the particles smaller than screen mesh are discharged as undersize materials.
